Time to wrap up London and prepare for the trip north. We wanted to see the Notting Hill area, being fans of the movie, so a little tube time and we were walking the streets. It is a charming place with some cute buildings to look at, fairly quiet except for a few tourists. We ate Pizza, that was OK and wandered. It allowed me time to meditate with the camera. I love detail stuff like this, you could miss it if your eyes were not open and seeing.
A few parting thoughts as well:
The tube is great, Taxis from the tube to your destination are splendid, just about did myself in trying to navigate while hauling luggage. And my poor wife too, sorry babe!
I didn't post pics from there but the Globe Theatre is just a LOT of fun and should not be missed, Shakespeare in the setting he intended is just, sigh... stellar!
Traveling north from London is funner by train and taking the overnight train north with sleeper suites is AMAZING! https://www.sleeper.scot/
The gardening chops of Londoners always astounds me, itty bitty space, lets grow a BUNCH of stuff and throw in a chinese lion statue for variety.
Still kind of wish I had bought the sign, but glad I didn't have to carry it around.
The day we left town, we toured Buckingham Palace, and hit Hyde Park Briefly, really wish we had know how BIG Hyde Park is... that is a whole day there. And we were tired of walking and needed to rest after, so we saw a movie "Twisters" in a boutique theater that was slightly air conditioned. Buckinham is SO OPULENT, it actually felt a little overdone really.
Hyde Park had some amazing flowers and a few cute bumble bees too! I seldom turn down the chance to take a pic of flowers, Didn't here even with the drizzle.
London finished, onwards to Aberdeen Scotland!
